We are thrilled to share with you some important news: the first release of two new Barbaresco labels in our wine selection. They are the result of a project started a few years ago, specifically in 2020, born with the intent to make our range of Barbaresco wines even more representative by enriching the selection with two MGA (Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva - Additional Geographical Mention) really characteristic of the municipality of Neive. This will make it easier for you to “taste” better our territory, rediscovering the essence of Nebbiolo grown in one of the three municipalities dedicated to the production of Barbaresco. We are talking about the famous Albesani and Starderi cru, with a rather limited production of around 3000 bottles per type.
Let’s discover together some peculiarities of the two wines.
BARBARESCO DOCG ALBESANI
On this hill, the roots of Nebbiolo vines grow in a soil similar to that of the neighbouring Gallina vineyard, rich in limestone, clay and silt. The exposure is south, more precisely on the top of the hill, a small happy place, which allows us to obtain excellent wines. The result is a warm, long-lived Barbaresco with a lively colour and a complex bouquet with red fruits, light floral and toasted notes.

BARBARESCO DOCG STARDERI
This MGA is characterised by a soil rich in clayey marl, which overlooks the Tanaro river that mitigates the climate. With a magnificent southern exposure, the vineyard gives us interesting grapes that make wines with structure, a fresh, balsamic bouquet and compact, velvety tannins. The Barbaresco Starderi will certainly give you great surprises.... even in a few years' time!
